If you want proof that New Hampshire takes its craftsmanship seriously, this is it. The League of NH Craftsmen's Fair has been running since 1933, making it one of the oldest juried craft fairs in the entire country, and this year marks its 92nd edition. For nine days, Mount Sunapee Resort fills with booths of pottery, woodworking, jewelry, glassblowing, and textiles, all made by New Hampshire artisans — plus live demonstrations where you can watch the work happen in real time.
It's an easy day trip no matter where in the state you live, and the setting alone is worth it: the fair runs right at the base of the mountain, so you get the craft show and the scenery in one stop. If you're newer to NH, this is a great low-key way to meet the maker community that quietly runs a lot of the state's small-town economy.
